Contract Scope and Objectives
BUKO Traffic & Safety was engaged to take over the two-hour emergency response element of H.W. Martin’s traffic management contract with Thames Water. The priority was to ensure continuity of service, improve responsiveness, and deliver a safer, more reliable service to South London.
Initial Preparations and Strategic Planning
BUKO Traffic & Safety began with a full contract and commercial review, aligning expectations with H.W. Martin and identifying the resources required to meet Thames Water’s urgent needs. A new operating depot was established in Caterham—ideally located for fast response.
Over 100 new temporary traffic signals and large volumes of Chapter 8 equipment were procured. Modular offices were installed, and the depot was operational in just six weeks.
